ST. PETER — A man allegedly broke a woman's ribs as he dragged her back into a St. Peter residence during an assault.
Daniel Leon Willaert, 48, St. Peter, was charged with felony assault, gross misdemeanor interfering with a 911 call and misdemeanor domestic assault Monday in Nicollet County District Court.
A woman who knows Willaert said they got into an argument Friday night and when she tried to call 911, he took her phone. The woman said she tried to leave but Willaert pinned her to the floor of the porch, slammed her head against the floor and put his hand over her mouth when she tried to call for help.
When she tried to leave again, Willaert allegedly tackled the woman in the yard, kicked her and dragged her back into the house.
The woman had bruises on her side and arm and a swollen lip, according to the court complaint. She went to the St. Peter hospital and was treated for broken ribs.
