MANKATO — Three juvenile suspects have been identified in a robbery and kidnapping last month in Mankato.

Five teens allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint at a bus stop on Briargate Road Aug. 14. They reportedly forced the man into a vehicle and took him to an ATM to withdraw cash.

Two suspects, ages 18 and 19, were identified and charged soon after the incident.

The other three suspects have now been identified and are all 17-year-old boys, Mankato police Cmdr. Chris Baukol said.

Wichong Wal Tiap, of Mankato, was charged Monday in Blue Earth County Juvenile Court with felony counts of robbery and kidnapping.

The names of felony crime suspects who are age 16 and older are public information after they are charged.

The same charges are being recommended against a second boy, according to Baukol. The third boy faces aiding and abetting charges.

Tiap allegedly admitted to driving the vehicle during the robbery and directed police to a bush near the bus stop where the gun used during the robbery was hidden. The recovered gun was a replica BB gun.
