It was a glorious day. Hoar frost had hung cold, heavy, snowy and crystallized decorations on the trees. The weather man promised we would have a lovely day.
As we drove through cities and towns, the strata of plowed snow lined both sides of the road. There were snowy layers of gray and dirty city traffic spoiling the clean sidewalks, black dirt from the blizzard winds, and gravel and snow from the deposits of the grader widening country roads for travel.
The land opened up to large fields of pristine snow. The endless fields of snow sped alongside snowmobile tracks left in the fields. I was wowed by the serenity and felt sad as the loud snowmobiles tracked past in the quiet snow. The drivers waved. It was a great way to celebrate winter.
Though we were warm and safe in the truck, I shuddered at the picture-perfect coldness. When I woke this morning, suddenly it was cloudy. I felt the drain of a gray winter day pulling me back to sleep. I couldn’t give in to the depressing thoughts. Later, in the car, I sat in the morning sun, a rectangular patch from our car window.
Joy happily took up residence in my soul. I hummed a quick song. Today we would bring home the rest of my books, “The Yield.”
At the storehouse, in a cramped parking space, the dock man encouraged me by complimenting me on the number of books that had been sold. “You have a lot of your books sold. More, than most!”
I wanted to give these writings as a gift to our Heavenly Father and work with Him as to who needed encouragement as a caregiver. I wanted people to know how good He has been to me and how I love writing these articles and this book for Him.
There has been a great deal of joy, but also fear and doubting my expertise in writing the book. I found, through this experience, that I am not a salesperson. It has caused me to pray and thank God for the encouraging readers and friends who supported me through this endeavor. O Give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good. 1. Chronicles 16:34

• Who has blessed you with their sharing of faith?

I thank God for the stratas in my life which brought me the following yields: Farmer parents, farmer husband, living in America, going to college, teaching school, knowing Jesus as my Lord and Savior and Stan Johnson, a wonderful husband and helpmate. What a grand résumé.
I found this scripture on a note card Stan had written to me when I was struggling with the sales: (Trust in me, God, Jesus) in your time of trouble, so I can rescue you, and you can give me the Glory. Psalm 50:15
