— To the Editor:
Referring to The Land Assistant Editor Tom Royer’s Dec. 11 opinion, “That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown,” the special day Christmas is Christ’s birthday, therefore “Merry Christmas.” I do not boycott stores but those who do have a right. We always have a “Christ’s birthday cake.” Do you?
Christmas is the Christians’ special day. I was surprised to see a Christian, I assume, complaining about Christians at Christmastime. I’m wondering why a Christian writer would “take a wonderful season like Christmas and turn it into a problem,” to quote your Linus Van Pelt.
Sounds as if the column wants to silence Jesus’ followers and make them “politically correct.” I am unashamed of speaking for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By the way, Merry Christmas.
