The 2007-08 Minnesota State FFA officer team was announced at the recent 78th annual Minnesota FFA State Convention held at the University of Minnesota.
Nathan Janssen, a University of Minnesota freshman majoring in Bio-Based Products and Bio-Systems Engineering, was selected as the state FFA president. Janssen is from the Martin County West FFA chapter.
Other new officers are Amber Seibert, Sebeka, vice president; Lynsey Bengston, New London-Spicer, treasurer; Pam Dahlman, Dassel-Cokato, secretary; Abbie Wirt, Lewiston-Altura, reporter; and Daniel Helvig, Martin County West, sentinel.
Seibert, Dahlman and Helvig all have been accepted to enroll in the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences this fall.
FFA is a national youth organization with nearly 9,000 student members in Minnesota preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. More information on FFA and the new officers is available at www.ffa.umn.edu/association.
