A standing acclamation to Lenae Bulthuis for her “The Back Porch” column in the Sept. 18/25 issue of The Land, “Commit to the common good before pigs warm up wings.” While I understand the title, this was a front office piece of literary work.
It is sad to say, however, Lenae, the pigs are flying. Not only are they aloft, they are moving blindfolded at high speed. Every elected official should receive this column, especially the president.
I do not think I will skip “The Back Porch” for a long time.
